Who I am
I'm doing research on the physiology of the retina, the part of the eye which allows us to see. Questions like "How does the retina process visual information?", "What is the code with which the retina talks to the brain?", and "How does this code change depending on factors such as brightness, health, circadian rhythm etc?" are highly fascinating to me. I find especially the detailed physiology of human retina very interesting.
However, I also like the management aspect of research: planning experiments, coordinating equipment and col-laborations, communication with colleagues and collaborators, organization of meetings, writing of applications and papers.
I'm currently in the last year of my PhD - let's see where research will bring me next. If you're interested in what I've done so far, have a look at my CV. If you have any questions, comments, ideas for collaborations, job offers, ... please contact me anytime.

This homepage is primarily work-related, but here you'll also find some information about my other interests.
I love horse riding and I'm very happy that I found Viktor. Viktor - the sorrel horse in the picture on the left - doesn't belong to me, but I look after him 1-2 times per week.
